My cleaning ladyboy turned up the other morning breathless with excitement. Did I want another girl to photograph, he wanted to know. Sure, I said, why ever not?
But try to get here a little earlier this time, I told him. I might as well have saved my breath. Admittedly it wasn’t their fault but they actually arrived considerably later than previously on account of having to navigate around a sea of protesters.

She was. In fact she was expecting it and I didn’t even need to ask. Within just a few minutes her shyness had evaporated and she spent most of the shoot checking to see if I had a stiffy yet. Of course it didn’t take long and as soon as I had one she wanted to see it. “I never see farang before” she giggled.
After she’d left the cleaner came back with an accusing look on his face. “Noi say she like this job veeeerrrry much.” I’m not surprised I told him, she just earned as much in two-hours as she earns in two weeks at the factory.
