Life like (well almost) love dolls have been around for a while but up until now they have always been mute and static. The launch of True Companion’s Roxxxy at the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas this weekend is set to change all that.
Roxxxy comes with built-in computer and several personalities. She can hear you, speak to you and feel your touch. A mechanical heart powers a liquid cooling system and she boasts three “inputs” each with robotic movement.
The prototype is Caucasian, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs 120 pounds but according to its creator, Douglas Hines, clients can customise it to suit their own preferences. The on-board personalities range from Frigid Farrah to S&M Susan with Wild Wendy and Mature Martha in between. These too can be customised and tweaked by the owner.
The love doll has wireless internet connection to facilitate software updates. There is also an owners forum where people can swap and share customised personalities.
Roxxxy has been two-and-a-half years and between US$500,000 and US$1 million in the making. She retails between US$7,000-9,000 depending on customised features. If your in Asia that’s probably between 120-150 short-times and you never have to buy it a drink.
At present she is not able to walk so she can’t come and haul you out of the pub just when you are having fun and she can’t hide the TV remote when the footy is about to start. But I do wonder, however, how long it will be before the league of enraged ex-wives and girlfriends infiltrate the forum surreptitiously swapping personalities that do nothing but nag and have headaches. Let’s just hope they have an ‘off’ switch.
