Farewell to Fenwicks

I found out last night that Wanchai institution, Fenwicks - the Dock, has closed. I managed to get in one last happy-hour beer before the shutters rolled down for the last time. At the request of the police the government have refused to renew the clubs licence. The owners are appealing but it may be a month or two, if at all, before it re-opens.
According to a report in the South China Morning Post sex was not the only commodity from Colombia that was on sale. I must admit, though I never went there on a regular basis, I find that hard to believe. I chatted with the South American ladies on numerous occasions and never got the slightest hint that there were selling anything other than a fuck.
But I feel mostly sad for the 30-40 people whose jobs have been unnecessarily flushed down the toilet in these appalling economic times. Fennies was a tourist destination in its own right. Business travellers, tourists and visiting navies all made a beeline for it after dark. The club was still doing good business despite the gloom and doom.
To add insult to injury they have been forced to close just two days before the busiest party weekend of the year. The Hong Kong Sevens starts Friday night
Whatever happens it wont stop the sale of sexual services, nor the coke dealing if that really was the case. In a few months a new place will open and the cycle will repeat itself. As it has been doing since the 1860s.

It’s almost a dozen years since China reclaimed Hong Kong. I recall, prior to the hand-over, that many in the drinking classes were a bit worried about what might become of the Wanchai strip.
To some that part of Lockhart Road was just a trench filled with girlie bars. Where Filipinas danced around poles and were quite willing to leave with a customer provided he compensate the bar. A fee that was considerably more than a flight to the Philippines. (He would then have to negotiate with the girl for whatever services she might provide.)
There were some seriously expensive clubs where just the cost of a round of drinks could have got you to the Philippines, and there were a handful pubs and a few discos.
It was a pale shadow of what was available in hot spots such as Bangkok and Manila. But it was, and still is, steeped in history and tradition. This is the area where Suzie Wong plied her trade and while her world may have been eclipsed by the venues further south there were a good many girls from those places heading north in search of bigger bucks.
Arsenal Street, at the very end of the strip, is the dividing line between Wanchai and Admiralty. As the names suggest this is where the British Navy was berthed. And what is the first thing an able seaman wants when he hits land after a long voyage? That’s right, a glass of beer and a fuck! Even now the Navies of friendly countries still disembark at Fenwick Pier for a spot of R&R when they are passing.
But were the fears well founded? How has it changed under Chinese rule?
Well I think it’s fair to say that Richard Mason, the author of The world of Suzie Wong certainly wouldn’t recognise it. Indeed some people that frequented the area as little as ten years ago would notice considerable change, and I’m happy to say that it is mostly for the better.
The pole dancing bars are still there and they are still expensive but there’s a number of new bars such as The Bridge and the re-invented Old China Hand that cheerfully turn a blind eye to professional ladies hanging out in the bar. After all they attract the guys and the guys buy drinks.
Neptune Disco is still going strong but Crossroads, The Makati and Pussycat have been replaced by The New Makati, and Fenwicks ‘The Dock’. A few years ago the government launched a marketing campaign with the slogan “Hong Kong: Asia’s world city”. Nowhere is this more evident than in Fenwick’s where you can often find girls from as far away as South America complementing the usual crop from Southeast Asia.
If you prefer not to go into smoky, beery clubs and pubs it’s really quite easy just to pick someone up on the street.
There are, of course, other pubs that have large screen TVs for those that want to watch the big match and venues to fulfil our other needs. Big Ernie’s Diner do good burgers, twenty-four hour breakfasts are at The Flying Pan, Ebaneezers for kebabs and The Curry Pot is self explanatory.
Here is a brief rundown of the key haunts. There are, of course, plenty more:
1. Beverly Hotel - rooms by the hour
2. Big Ernie’s Diner - burgers etc
3. Bridge, The - beer and wimmin
4. Bulldog’s - beer and TV
5. Carnegies - beer and wimmin
6. Curry Pot One - beer and wimmin
7. Delaney’s - beer and TV
8. Ebaneezer’s - kebabs
9. Fenwicks - beer and wimmin
10. Flying Pan - 24 hour breakfasts
11. Joe Bananas - beer and wimmin

14. New Makati - beer and wimmin
15. Old China Hand - beer and wimmin

The government gave me a big tax rebate, they decided they had been charging too much. I’ve been telling them that for years they finally got around to seeing things from my perspective. Anyway, I’ve decided to spend it all on beer and hookers. Probably a few flights as well but I decided to get the ball rolling right away.
Several times over the last couple of weeks I’ve had to spend time at an industrial estate in the northerly part of Hong Kong’s New Territories, up near the Chinese border. The nearest outpost of civilisation is a small market town. But small though it may be it boasts an impressive number of one room brothels. I’d already dipped the appropriate appendage to test the waters and had been impressed. So today I made a special trip and was rewarded well for the effort.
It the first door I tried and it took less than half a second to make up my mind. She was fair-skinned and with hair cut just above the shoulders. Not a trace of make-up, she didn’t need any. She wore a red plaid mini-skirt with a plain white blouse knotted at the front. Over that she wore a kind of cropped black jacket to hide the fact that she wasn’t wearing a bra.
She held up four fingers I nodded in agreement and put my hand up the back of her skirt and gave her bum a squeeze. It was firm and round she wasn’t wearing any panties either. I moved to lift her skirt up at the front but she stopped me and began to undo my trousers.
We would normally shower at this point but it was only lunchtime and it was clear to me that I was the first customer of the day and it was only sixty minutes since I had last been in the shower. Instead she pushed me onto the bed and climbed on top. It was only then that I discovered that she was shaved, or more likely waxed. She was completely and totally smooth.
Shaved Chinese girls are very rare indeed. It’s an old fashioned notion but pubic hair is deemed to be lucky. This girl was anything but old-fashioned she was rubbing her clit on my hips and chest and cock. I flipped her over and went down on her. I got the distinct impression she was enjoying herself. This was confirmed a few minutes later when her thighs wrapped themselves constrictor like around my head and she gasped a little gasp.
After that she climbed back on top wrapped her gorgeous little cunt around me and fucked me cowgirl style. I didn’t last very long I’m afraid. After that we collapsed and held each other for a while. This is also unusual. At this point working girls are keen to get you showered off and out the door so they can fix themselves up ready for the next customer.
She’d been quite shy at first but now she was talkative. Told me she was twenty, from just across the border in Shenzhen. She’d arrived late last night for a seven day stint to get some cash together. I was her first ever paying customer.
I did try to ask why she’d shaved her pussy but it was a bit too complex for my limited language skills. It is either because she was shot for a porn site or because that’s how she’s seen women on porn sites. I also tried to ask for a receipt so I can claim it next time I file my income tax but that was too difficult as well.

Strip club to host job fair

The Foxy Lady strip club in Providence, Rhode Island is to host a job fair today in the hope of attracting new staff. They are looking for strippers, waitresses, disc jockeys and bartenders.
Rhode Island’s economy is in the toilet, with an unemployment rate of over 10 percent and the Foxy Lady isn’t immune. But it is still drawing customers willing to drink and pay for lap dances.
“It’s taken a hit,” said manager Bob Travisono. “It’s not as bad as restaurants and stuff like that. In times like this, they seem to drink their sorrows away.”
Maybe you should get the missus and the neighbours to go along

Kudos to British budget airline Ryanair for not sacking stewardess Edita Schindlerova. It seems Edita has been caught with her knickers off … and several cocks in her mouth. Before becoming an air hostess she was a porn star.
A Ryanair spokesman said: “What people do before or after they work for us is their business.” I couldn’t agree more but I can’t help thinking that most other international airlines would have given her the boot claiming she was not the sort of person they wanted to represent them.
I take my hat off to Ryanair, I’m sure their flights will be pretty full for a while. And I take my pants of to Edita and whack off a swift right-hander. It’s people like Edita that bring a little sunshine to our lives.
