Locals in Bali have been gnashing their teeth and protesting about new anti-porn laws being drawn up in far away Jakarta. It seems the bill would render most of the islands historical temples and relics, most of which feature bare boobies, illegal.
According to AFP it might also mean that tourists would have to wear more conservative swim wear on the famous beaches resulting in ugly tan lines and ultimately damaging the island’s livelihood.

Indonesia may be the world’s largest Muslim country but there is a significant number of minorities scattered across the vast archipelago, a good many of whose customs could be in violation of the new law.
“This porn bill is a serious threat to the country’s unity since it disrespects the perspective of others on many things.” Said activist Luh Anggraeni.
Protesters put on traditional dances and one activist read a poem that repeated the word “genital” to prove the mention of sex would not send the crowd into fits of lust, reported AFP.
Update: The bill passed on 30 October with revisions to allow bikinis in tourist spots!
